1 June 2018 - Buxton

The holiday has started.

After much fretting I managed to pack the car, once MLW (my lovely wife) took charge. It’s amazing what she can fit into a stuff sack!

We set off mid afternoon and had an unusual route via the sat nav to Buxton.

We reached our hotel which is soon to be refurbished (never seem to get them just after)and after a quick turnaround we headed out for a walk across the Pavilion gardens.

The gardens are great. There is a swimming baths, a play park and being Buxton, an opera house.

We made our way to a nice café/restaurant for our tea then found a shop for ice creams.

Some of the locals seem to be a bit rough and ready around that part of town, however, the quality improved as we walked nearer to the opera house.

We have another day here to investigate what Buxton has to offer.

  2. There is a free fountain for Buxton water. Just off to fill up the 10 litre bottle.
