5 June 2018 - Oxenhope

We had a busy morning after a much better night’s sleep.  We had a lie in until nearly 8 o’clock.

Breakfast was cheese on toast for MLW and the YCM and bacon and potato sauté for me.

After washing up we were off to Mytholmroyd as I’d arranged to try on some boots for my birthday present. We arrived at HebTroCo at 11.00. I had a lovely chat with one of the owners, tried on and bought a pair of their lovely Moto boots. HebTroCo is an interesting company having come about after a conversation down the pub and a Kickstarter appeal.

We were then off to Shipley to meet some friends who I used to work with in 2011.  We’ve kept in touch and was great to catch up over lunch.

After lunch we visited Otley. A very pretty town with plenty of interesting shops. We found a place which sold ice creams not far from a play park.

We had a bit of trouble leaving the play park as it was a very good one. Amongst its attractions was an Archimedes screw that carried water up to a channel to turn a water wheel.  I may or may not have moved a small child (not mine) out of the way so I could have a go.

Eventually we returned to the car and came back across the moors via Keighley.

Neither MLW nor I needed too much for tea so we had a few snacks whilst the YCM had a salad plate.

After tea we went for a short walk to ease our legs after yesterday’s expedition.

The evening has been spent with the same kids playing football and the YCM having her bedtime stories.

With a limited amount of milk left, the decision is, do we have an evening cup of tea or wait until the morning?
