We woke up around 8.00 o’clock. A quick breakfast of instant porridge was easy as the pod had a kettle.
We were up and packed by 9.00. We had a brief pit stop at the play park before going to the Stena port in Cairnryan. The ferry was running an hour late but the time seems to go quickly.
The crossing was very calm and the very thoughtful people at Stena put children’s play rooms on their boats. I had a relaxed cup of coffee and we weren’t far from port when MLW and the YCM emerged. They went outside to watch the boat entering port and we met up back at the car.
We left the port and drove into Belfast. We needed to replace the tent pegs that I’d mangled during the previous two weeks.
The YCM and I left MLW in the NCP car park and ventured into the city centre.
We found Cotswolds and got some pegs and returned to the car.
I set the satnav to Portrush and set off.
I need to look to the car satnav settings. It seems to avoid motorways and takes me through every town centre it can instead of joining motorways or going around town bypasses.
We finally arrived at the ‘Holiday Park’.
The place is big with lots of caravans and 8 pods.
The pods are great. Close parking, open air sinks and worktops and a covered cooking area. They’ve even provided metal grids in the picnic benches for bbqs.
The only downside is that the showers are £1 for 7 minutes. I have noted my disapproval at reception.
On the upside we’re 30 seconds from the play area.
There has been a lot of playing. I cooked dinner, we ate and had another play before bedtime.
Let’s see what tomorrow brings.
Can’t believe it’s been two weeks! Sounds like a great trip and happy birthday for Wednesday. Sorry I missed it - gall stone “attack” had a head start on you
